Dr. LaTonya Woodson

Manager of Best Start, Social Media and Diversity and Inclusion

La Tonya brings over 18 years of Human Resources experience to her current role as a Talent Acquisition Manager where she is responsible for on boarding, social media and diversity and inclusion.  She also owns The Company Doctor, a consulting firm that offers training and professional development support and speaker services to individuals and businesses of all sizes.  La Tonya  has primarily worked in the private sector for Fortune 500 companies and most recently, she transitioned to higher education as an HR manager at one of the largest universities in Texas.  In her previous roles, La Tonya contributed her expertise in the areas of Leadership Development, Organizational Development, Learning and Development and Employee Engagement.  Her experience also includes recruiting, career development, employee relations, diversity management and executive coaching.

La Tonya uses her talents as a motivational/keynote speaker at seminars, retreats and conferences.  She is actively engaged in her community, including serving on non-profit boards, participating in member-based organizations and volunteering in community/civic activities.  As an elected official, she also serves as a Board Trustee for the Crowley Independent School District. She received a BS in Speech Communications from Texas Christian University, an MS in Human Resources Management and Training and Development from Amberton University and a PhD in Applied Training, Performance Improvement from the University of North Texas.

 

La Tonya loves building positive relationships and encouraging individuals, no matter where they are in their educational, career or life journey, to reach their optimal potential.  In her spare time, she enjoys writing life style stories, developing HR strategies and spending quality time with her husband and two children.
