Dr. Linda Bell-Robinson

 

Dr. Linda Bell Robinson graduated from the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program at Sam Houston State University. She received her Master and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Texas Southern University. She attended Texas A & M, Texas Woman’s University and Sam Houston State University through the Leadership Command College and is a former President of the Alumni Association.


She worked as a police officer for 36-years and retired as a Lieutenant investigator with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office Asset Forfeiture Division. In this capacity, she managed a taskforce team and operations that handled monies and property deemed contraband through seizure and forfeiture cases. She has worked in law enforcement as an upper level manager and has managed local, state, and federal taskforce. She is well versed in the laws of the State of Texas and is very knowledgeable in the prosecutory and legal process in Texas. 


Dr. Robinson is a certified police instructor and has conducted seminars on Identity Theft, Tracking Seized Money, Communication Strategies, and Suggestions for Law Enforcement Leaders. She was an instructor for the Office of Law Enforcement Training and Special Programs with the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Institute and is currently a facilitator with the University of Phoenix Criminal Justice College and she has joined the world of direct sales entrepreneurship.

Dr. Robinson, through-out her professional career, has been appointed to several local and state commissions. In 2003, she was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve as a member of the Council on Sex Offender Treatment. In December 2004, she was selected by the Governor to move to the Council on Health and Human Services, where she is an active member. In addition, Dr. Robinson is a member of various Law Enforcement and Civic Associations. She served on the 182nd District Court Grand Jury; the Governor of Texas Advisory Board on Drug Control, former Board Member of the Houston Area Women’s Center, a Leadership Houston graduate and was selected as a “Savvy Sister” by the Houston Woman Magazine. Dr. Robinson was elected during the 2012 general election as a Trustee to the North Forest Independent School District. In 2013 she received the Outstanding Texan award from the Texas Legislative Black Caucus. Dr. Robinson is also the recipient of the Power of Leadership award from her direct sales company.  A community servant, Dr. Robinson is the elected Precinct 0104 Chairperson for her community. Her motto is “hang up the phone, do not make robocalls, just get up, go out and knock on doors” to encourage neighbors to go to vote.

 

Dr. Robinson is the author of the AME Churches of Texas, a published photographic journal of African Methodist Churches in Texas.  The book was written as a legacy honoring her 151 years old home church.


Dr. Robinson is a native Houstonian and life time member of St. Paul AME Church where she and her husband attends. Dr. Robinson and husband have a blended family of three sons, one daughter, son-n-law, daughter-n-law, and four grandchildren.
